Nissan’s Sunderland Plant has started exporting its second model to Japan in the space of just 10 weeks.
In March, QASHQAI became the first Sunderland-built model in over a decade to be exported back to Nissan’s home market. Now, the plant’s Micra C+C convertible will join it on dealer forecourts across the country.

Nissan sells part of Sunderland site to fund new parts centre

Nissan’s Sunderland plant has sold part of its site to fund investment in a new £4.5 million parts logistics centre.
A 45-acre parcel of land in the southern area of the Nissan site has been sold to property developers Wilton and Clugston to fund the centre, whose primary role will be to receive, store and prepare in-bound car parts for delivery to the production line.

Nissan has begun a public relations offensive for its environmental programme, revealing that it will have what it calls a ‘three-litre’ car on sale in the UK early next decade.
Nissan believes it will have no difficulty in building a small car that will travel 62 miles on one litre of fuel – equivalent to about 280 mpg and a performance that matches the best of the current hybrid cars.
